Have you ordered the iPhone 5 yet? If and when you do you’re going to want to stock it with the best travel-related apps an iTunes gift card can buy. Luckily, the people at Cheap New York Hotels have compiled this infographic of the top 10 must have travel apps so you don’t have to spend countless hours scanning the app store. How convenient!

I guess you could download them all on a device that isn’t the iPhone 5, but then you run the risk of everyone making fun of you for being poor or behind the times or something.

Full disclosure: We had none of these apps downloaded before reading this infographic. But don’t think we’re bad travelers — we’re just really, really bad with most handheld technologies.

Steven tried out for The Amazing Race one time and was denied. We're not saying this is why he started this site, but it may have been a contributing factor in his decision to explore the world online and share his travel inspiration with others.

  1. Thanks for the great app suggestions and for the awesome infographic, Steven! I have tried most of these and I found TripIt to be the most useful, but I will be checking out SitOrSquat later. I would like to recommend a little entertainment app that has saved me from a great deal of frustration. It’s called the DISH Remote Access app and I use it to stream live TV and DVR recordings from my Hopper DVR to my phone. In just a few weeks it feels like I have spent days waiting out flight delays and I would have gone insane if I didn’t have that app to distract me.
