Sons of Anarchy is the wildly popular FX show that has captured a cult following dedicated to the show’s awesome characters and badass plot. Everyone’s excited that the air dates for the 6th season have finally been announced. The first episode will air on September 10th for a full 90 minutes. For those of you who don’t know, the show is focused on a motorcycle gang calls the Sons of Anarchy, their families and the people of the fictional town Charming, California. The gang has allies, enemies (rival gangs) and are involved in some illegal enterprises. What’s not to love?!
As a tribute for season six (and the announcement that there will be a comic book as well) we put together the ultimate Sons of Anarchy roadtrip for you and your buddies. The stops below include some actual filming locations and towns specifically mentioned in the show so you can get a taste of both sides of the production! Imagine it: nothing but you, your leather SAMCRO vest, and your awesome Harley-Davidson roaring through the west coast. We forgive you if you’re giddily laughing to yourself like a school girl, you’re tough on the outside. (P.S.: there’s a surprise at the bottom for the especially dedicated viewers.)

Simi Valley is a city in the southwest corner of Ventura County and where the adventure begins! This is one of the filming locations for Sons of Anarchy.

Located in the awesome city of angels, North Hollywood is home to the NoHo Arts District and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. It’s another filming location for Sons of Anarchy, and a perfect place to get in touch with the art culture of California!
3. Sun Valley, Los Angeles, California

Sun Valley is a primarily Latino neighborhood in LA and the last California filming location on our road trip. A scenic stop, but it’s time to motor on through!
4. Oakland, California

Oakland is the hometown for the Mayans, the rival motorcycle gang to the Sons of Anarchy, so be careful when making your way through this town! In reality, Oakland is the busiest port in all of Northern California! It’s the 8th largest city in the state, so there’s plenty to do and see such as the Oakland Zoo, Museum of California and the Aviation Museum!
5. Indian Hills, Nevada

This town was featured in season one when the Sons had to solve a gun-trafficking problem with the Devil’s Tribe Motorcycle Club. The real Indian Hills is only about 14 square miles on the south side of the Carson City metropolis area.
6. Rogue River, Oregon

In season three, Gemma is hiding in Rogue River, Oregon with Tig while the rest of the Sons are in Charming. In reality, Rogue River is in Jackson County Oregon and was originally known as Woodville until 1912. In total it’s less than one square mile but is home to the Palmerton Arboretum.
Bonus: Northern Ireland

The plot took a twist in 2010 that sent the cast and crew to Northern Ireland to film the 3rd season. Take a trip to Belfast to experience Sons of Anarchy up close and personal!
