Knights and Ladies, prepare to gather with the Royals for eight exciting themed weekends at the Texas Renaissance Festival starting in Mid October. From jousting to a crazy and entertaining costume contests to a swashbuckling weekend with Pirates, the Texas Renaissance Festival is a must-attend event to add to your calendar!

The opening weekend starts off the festivities in true Oktoberfest style as you travel to Bavaria for traditional German music and dancing. Of course, what would Oktoberfest be without bratwurst with a side of sauerkraut, and a thirst quenching stein of beer? They’ll also have three German-themed contests that include a Bavarian Costume Contest, Stein Holding, and a Bratwurst Eating Contest. How many Bratwurst can you eat?

The following weekend, the Texas Renaissance Festival is taken over by wizards, elves, and faeries during the 1001 Dreams Adventure. Gather with fairy folk for a Fantasy Costume Contest and a Dragon Wing Eating Contest. Afterwards, visit the New Market Music Gazebo to cast your vote for the most fantastical faerie house.

A swashbuckling weekend awaits as the crew of the Wild Rover invade the shire. Get ready for a weekend of songs of the sea at the Sea Devil Tavern, or try yer luck by entering the Treasure Hunt. Dress to the nines in your best Pirate gear and you could win the Best Dressed Pirate Contest. And, there will also be a Fish N’ Chips Eating Contest. Whether you come for the pirate antics or to join the crew in one of the contest, you’re certain to reel in a fun time at the Texas Renaissance Festival during the Pirate Adventure Weekend!

The witching hour is upon us and the Texas Renaissance Festival is ready to welcome ghouls, goblins, and spooks to their All Hallow’s Eve Weekend. The Royal Court is prepared for His Majesty’s Annually Decreed Tricks or Treats outing, and there will be many treats for all to sample. Stroll along the Jack-o’-lanterns and vote for your favorite, or create your own and enter the Jack-o-Lantern Carving Contest. The Transylvanian Performance Company will be on hand at the Revels Area near the New Market Music Gazebo to assist you in entering any of the contest, which are FREE to join. Explore the village shoppes or if you love Kettle Corn, then enter the Contest and eat your way to the winning spot! And, this is just the beginning of the festivities to experience at the Texas Renaissance Festival!

After Dark At The Texas Renaissance Festival

The nightly adventures continue at the After Dark gala event held in the fabulous TRF ballroom. Each fantasy weekend there will be a fabulous costume dance tied to the themes of the Texas Renaissance Festival for adults 21 and older. The festive evenings include music and dancing, live entertainment, themed contests, drinks, food, and more to enjoy. Live your fantasies and let your imagination run wild and dress the part. No Costume, no problem; anything from dress casual to ballroom formal is acceptable. A $20 admission ticket includes unique entertainment and dancing for the evening, and is separate from the Texas Renaissance Festival. You may also combine a ticket with an hors d’ ouevres buffet for $40, and beverage service tickets will be available separately for $8 each.

Camping At The Texas Renaissance Festival

There’s plenty of time to book a reservation for RVs, trailers and traditional tent camp sites. All sites within the 200-acre campground are located next to the Texas Renaissance Festival, so you’ll never miss a moment of the exciting adventures and happenings. Onsite there are two camp stores with plenty of wares in case you run out of something. Food and drink vendors will be available with a variety of tasty items to feast on. Other amenities at the campsites include permanent and portable restrooms, shower facilities, and water and RV dump stations.
