I’ve been very into the idea of an American road trip recently, making Google maps of prospective routes while listening to my ultimate road trip jam. Unfortunately, all of this planning is completely arbitrary because at the moment I currently lack both the time, funds, and vehicle to just pick up and hit the road.
However, this infographic on the cost of a road trip across America gives me some hope that my dream can one day become a reality. Of course, I’d probably add a few stops and spend more than one day in each of these cities if I were embarking on this circumnavigation of the contiguous United States, which would up the price considerably. But now I know that I need at least 25 days off work and, at the bare minimum, $4641.11 in savings — oh, and a car. That’s something to work toward, right? Travel Freak Road Trip 2019!
