In case you haven’t heard, Hurricane Joaquin is growing and he is messing up everyone’s trip to the Bahamas.
According to USA Today, Hurricane Joaquin has forced over 20,000 people to miss their fun because cruise ships are going to avoid the area.
Cruises from Carnival, Disney Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Line and Princess Cruises are all being affected. Many of the ships are forgoing port calls to avoid Joaquin’s wrath.
The National Hurricane Center says that the storm could strengthen big time over the 24 hours. So, in hindsight, it’s for the best because there has been some major flooding in areas, such as on the Acklins island.
So far there haven’t been any reports that the storm is resulting in canceled flights, however, as it gains steam towards the East Coast, it’s probably best to keep a close eye on your flights over the next 24-48 hours for major changes.
Some airlines are preparing, such as USA Airways, which will allow for ticket exchanges, and Delta will offer refunds if there are significant delays or cancellations.
Well, we’ll have to see how it all goes down, but we suggest preparing for the worst, as it’s unlikely that flights will take place, especially if the storm comes in as strong as expect.
