Figuring out the best spots in New York City to go to when the weekend finally approaches isn’t an easy feat. There’s plenty of places that can be a good time in New York, so narrowing them down took a lot of thought. There’s something on this list for everyone, whether you want to grab beers with friends or dance until three in the morning. The other option is hitting all these places in one night, or going to one each night of the week (except Sunday, come on people, it’s a day of rest no matter what).
1. The 13th Step

I still haven’t decided if it’s the 32 High Def Flat Screens that make this the perfect place to watch the game, or if it’s the 34 foot bar. No, wait, it’s the deals that they have on Mondays and Tuesdays. On Mondays from 8 PM to close everything is four dollars – mixed drinks, drafts, bottles, cans, and shots, and on Tuesdays from 8PM to close it’s dollar draft beers and eight dollar pitchers. Can I arrange to somehow get married here, please?
2. The DL

The DL has a rooftop deck that is perfect for warm weather. They have a rooftop bar that’s ideal for a night out where you want to be able to drink outside, and each floor has a different atmosphere. There’s a restaurant on the first floor, a bar on the second, and the rooftop bar on the third. Start with dinner, then follow up with drinks on a rooftop? Okay, I’m in.
3. The Standard

This restaurant and lounge sits on atop of The Standard Hotel, and has some of the most stunning views. They also have a live jazz band that give the entire place a sophisticated edge. It’s the perfect place for drinks after dinner if you’re looking to have a more toned down night.
4. Phebe’s

Phebe’s on Bowery is a popular spot to grab drinks. They have a happy hour Monday to Friday from 4 to 8, where drinks are almost half price. In New York, finding anything close to that with a fun atmosphere to meet people and grab a drink is almost impossible. Cherish this place as I do.
5. The Blind Tiger

The Blind Tiger is one of my favorite spots almost any night of the week. It has a cozy atmosphere, yet it’s still lively and everyone is having a good time. If you’re looking for some of the best craft beer, The Blind Tiger takes craft beer very seriously, with twenty-eight rotating craft draughts. They’re also known for having some of the best bar food in NYC. A personal recommendation would be to try the tacos or their lamb burger. You won’t regret it.
6. Goldbar

Goldbar has one of the coolest decors ever, seeing as almost everything in there looks like it’s made out of gold. The ceilings are 12 feet high with elaborate chandeliers. There are DJs there every weekend, where they pack the entire venue and its the ultimate clubbing experience. Before going, check their Facebook page to see who will be DJing.
